The Autobiographical Self

This is what this blog is about: Our past, self-esteem, and memory – essentially our whole identity – is shaped by stories. One of the world’s leading neuroscientists, António Damásio, Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Southern California calls this the Autobiographical Self.
Consciously or subconsciously, everyday we tell ourselves stories. This is how the conscious mind perceives reality – it is story driven, with protagonists, antagonists, conflicts and goals. The stories we hear and internalize shape who we are, how we are perceived, and if we will succeed in life.
This is the approach of my work and this blog: It’s called The Saga of Your Life.
